Each year the University of Waterloo builds new, professional connections between leading employers in various industries and its students through its co-operative education program (co-op). The University of Waterloo offers the largest co-op program in the world with over 21,000 students from across 120+ disciplines enrolled.

This spring Sakura Sky will be partnering with the University of Waterloo for the first time; employing students from the co-op program to assume the roles of Junior Data and Software Engineers within our team.

Commencing in March 2020, three promising students will be joining Sakura to study and develop sophisticated skills in data engineering and machine learning. During their internship these students will cultivate practical skills in areas such as; software design, API design, data science modelling, data modelling, GCP, and AWS.

“We look forward to this opportunity to partner with the University of Waterloo and its students,” stated Andrew Stevens, CTO of Sakura Sky, “Innovation is at the core of what we believe at Sakura and that same spirit is reflected in Waterloo’s values. This program allows for new and exciting ideas to come from a collaboration between fresh and experienced minds.”
